A Great New Resource for Teachers & Homeschoolers
Recently, one of my customers, Meg, mentioned that she has a blog called Montessori by Hand. Intrigued, I went and checked it out. Wow! I was surprised and delighted to find a beautiful blog with all sorts of great ideas for making Montessori materials by hand. She even has a section with free downloadable files of pictures, music, and more.
Meg is AMI trained and lives in Mexico. She loves music, and many of her materials are related to teaching about instruments and composers. As you can never have enough music materials in your classroom (and sometimes they can be hard to find), I think she's doing a great service to the Montessori community by sharing her ideas.
If you have any ideas for making Montessori materials by hand and you want to share them, here's what she suggests:
"Send a description of the materials used, assembly process, and several photos of the finished product to montessorirevolution(at)gmail(dot)com and I will post them on the blog."
One recent post explained how to make a smock with pictures and detailed directions; as you can tell by the picture, the end result is adorable:

Thanks for this great new resource, Meg!

Thanks for the write up, Lori! I hope your readers enjoy the blog!
Sure, no problem! I think people will really enjoy your blog. I'll be making some new music materials based on your ideas!
Amazingly creative and I'd love to see more. Just learned iron-on vinyl exists! I wonder if you could use it for snow pants....
Is there anything Mexico-specific such as traditional fabrics or colors?
Thanks for sharing these!
Do you need snowpants in China, Hanya? =) You might want to email Meg because I don't know if she'll check back here.
